CHRISTINA (SAY HELLO TO ME)
CHRISTINA (SAY HELLO TO ME) is a song I wrote in the parking lot of BIG SKY SIMSBURY, CT.
There was a girl who would be there the same time as I was; like, every day for 2 years. Eventually, I heard someone say her name and filed it away if I ever had to talk to her. (What? It could happen.)
The moment finally came and I said “Hi” to her.
Silence.
This isn’t inconceivable when you’re a guy. You just roll with it and don’t get butt-hurt.
Anyway, fast forward for the next few months into a year, and it happened a few more times.
One day, I’d found it so funny, I got in my car and wrote this song. No guitar. Just wrote it down.
Got home and recorded it.
The first version above I wrote exclusively for Peter Fagan.
I brought it over to Peter Fagan’s house and forced him to learn it.
The second version above is the best we did on that night but you can tell we have no idea what key this song is in, nor what the structure should be. Listen to the drums, though…..
those are Peter’s famous feet I mentioned on the last track.
Also, I found out later on that her name was actually Nina.
So… there’s that.
